Evaluations, IEP’s, and Homeschool
School-Based Advocacy & 504/IEP Assistance
Is your child struggling at school? Is he/she in need of special services? Have you tried in vain to get the school system to help? Are you still waiting for an evaluation?
As Advocates, we work independently and are not associated with any school system. We are not attorneys, though we are education professionals that know special education law. We can provide information, guidance, and recommendations that you can choose to exercise, and have been effective for many parents like you.*
If you are frustrated because you know the school should do more for your child with special/exceptional needs, and still nothing has happened, then we may be able to help.
As an advocate on your behalf, we can attend SST/504 Plan/IEP meetings with you, help you request evaluations, accommodations, and services, as well as develop an effective and comprehensive plan for your child. It is our goal to make certain:
• You are aware of your rights and benefit from a mutually respectful and cooperative relationship with your child’s school and service providers.
• Your child’s school complies with the laws that protect your child.
• Appropriate and timely action is taken, even after your prior requests for help have repeatedly been ignored.
• Accommodations and services included on a 504 Plan or IEP are fitting for your child’s needs, are routinely updated, and properly adhered to by providers as required by the law.
