Wonder Academy
Wonder Academy (WA) is an alternative, homeschool, cooperative program created by Light Up Learning educators. It sets itself apart from current education co-op organizations by combining proven educational therapy-based methodologies and an individualized, thematic framework in the learning environment.
The lower school classroom accommodates up to six 2nd through 6th graders, while the upper classroom seats up to ten 7th – 12th graders. These intimate, low teacher-student ratio arrangements are intentionally designed to provide the best of what evidence-based practices demonstrate is effective for a neurodiverse learner population.

Driven By Research
Informed by scientific research, on cognitive functioning, child development, and psychological theory and practice as well as evidence-based, educational methodologies, WA incorporates techniques created by the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) to provide exceptional interventions for those with learning difficulties.
Specially designed for the “gifted, below-average and in-between” students that may also be struggling with learning, coursework is both appropriate and challenging, and shares its importance with social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual goals.
This translates into both a stimulating academic experience and provides hands-on and real-world applications. Focusing on common sense rather than Common Core, students are prepared to be successful in life and learning.

Faith-Based
We are also a non-denominational, faith community that strives to truly understand and practice God’s teachings as expressed in the Bible.
As such, both secular and faith-based perspectives are covered and “whole” learning can happen. WA is not a “program” so much as it is a philosophy for delivering any content. Because of this, WA can meet the needs of students across the learning spectrum for competence and confidence.
