Today’s the 1st day of school again for thousands of school kids, Kinder to College. Exciting! Right? Well it can be. Experts recommend a few things to ensure that this day go down in the “Yay” column. Here are a few…
1- Kids generally follow your lead, so model a good attitude & authentic excitement.
2- Be ready early to either get them ready, or to help them along. Even just to say “Hey” to the college bound.
3- Prepare a special breakfast – keep it simple or be extravagant – whatever will fill ’em up heartily & touch their hearts.
4- Remind them of all the great experiences to come, but keep it short & sweet.
5- Finally, you may be a hugger, message writer or just camera happy. In every case, be reasonable (especially with those pesky middle-schoolers) & let them know in advance how you may react. Then, they’ll expect what’s coming & enjoy it with you.
